COBS Bread and Bakers Delight are sister brands with shared roots and distinct identities. The challenge was to build a single native mobile platform that could serve both without compromising either.

Overview

COBS Bread and Bakers Delight came to us with a clear vision: a native mobile app that would bring their loyal customer base closer to the brand. The goal was to drive orders, reward regulars, and create a direct digital relationship with every visit. The ambition was to build something category-defining for the bakery space. We designed the foundation that made it possible.

My Role

Senior Product Designer

Led product design across all phases of the engagement. Architected the dual-brand design system in Figma, designed the full mobile application, and worked through the complexity of two loyalty programs with distinct logic. Helped the client see the design challenges clearly and delivered a system built to scale.

Problem

On the surface, COBS Bread and Bakers Delight look like the same brand. Underneath, they operate as two distinct businesses. Different loyalty programs. Different visual systems. Different customer expectations. Building a single application to serve both meant designing a system flexible enough to absorb real operational differences without the seams showing.

How do you build one product that feels native to two brands, when the brands themselves don't work the same way?

Mapped and designed for two loyalty programs with meaningfully different logic. Each brand's experience felt purpose-built, not adapted.

Structured the engagement in deliberate phases. Design system first. Loyalty launch second. E-commerce positioned as the next major milestone.

Native Mobile Application

Designed the full mobile experience from the ground up. Every screen accounted for brand variance and program logic while keeping the user experience consistent.
